In today's changing market, many real estate agents are wondering what to do. Some have gone through a cycle of shock, disappointment, fear, and now confusion. What seemed to work in yesterday's marketplace isn't working today, so what to do?

The truth is that there are many opportunities in today's market for success. This article will give you 7 tips to thrive in today's market.

Tip 1: Listen to the media with discernment

As you know, the media likes to paint a negative spin on everything to get more sales. There's a saying, "if it bleeds, it reads." Lately you've been hearing a lot of scare tactics from the media. When you're buying into the ideas that are presented, notice how you feel. Do you feel motivated and raring to go?

No, you probably feel demoralized, unmotivated, and downright scared. Guess what? As you feel these feelings, you are radiating energy to prospective clients that stop them from wanting to move forward. "Whatever you give out comes back to you multiplied."

That might explain why your phone isn't ringing.

Tip 2: Look at the facts

The economic forecast is actually quite different than what the media is spinning. Here's what you need to know to get you motivated, and in action:

interest rates are still at an all-time low

we've gone through the worst of the dip

indications are that prices will start to rise

In other words, according to the experts, the worst part is over and houses will begin to sell again.

Tip 3: Put up boundaries on negativity in your environment

You probably know what environment I'm talking about. I'm talking about being around other real estate agents.

Many of the clients that I'm currently coaching are busy creating a positive mindset. How do they do it?

They tell me, "I don't hang out with real estate agents who are negative. I would rather ride in my own car than hear the negative buzz."

Well done, I say, Don't let anyone rain on your parade.

Tip 4: Monitor your own self talk

No one knows how to create negative chatter in your mind, more than you do. With the flip of a switch, you can turn off negative self talk and give yourself positive and encouraging self talk.

Here's how you can spot negative self talk. It will sound something like:

"I don't know if I can succeed in today's market"

"I don't know if there's enough business to go around"

"maybe it's time for me to get a 'real job"

After working with real estate agents for the past 10 years to help them to double and triple the incomes, I have found an easy technique to intervene and create a positive mindset.

The next time you notice any negative self talk, just say STOP! Then take a breath and put in some positive new thoughts. Here are some examples of positive thoughts I have helped my clients create:

"I have what it takes to succeed in any market"

"there's more than enough to go around"

"the bottom line is - no matter what, people will always need to buy and sell houses"

"I do work I love and Im richly rewarded"

What does this do? This creates a positive, affirming mindset so that instead of asking the question, "can I do this? you ask, "how can I do this?"

Tip 5: Find and educate buyers

With an abundance of homes that need to be sold, and interest rates still low, what a wonderful time for buyers to get a great deal.

Your job is to find them, and educate them on this rare opportunity. Use all your prospecting methods, but direct yourself to reaching the buyers. When you do reach them (or they reach you), only give energy to the ones who are highly motivated and have to move. Be sure to have a buyers agreement with you, so you'll be compensated for your hard work.

Tip 6: Be clear on what makes you unique

As you begin to market yourself to buyers, be sure to present reasons to them as to why they should work with you instead of another real estate agent.

When I present this idea to my clients, they often go blank. Does this ever happen to you? If so, then with the help of a mentor or a coach, have someone help you discover your strengths.

For example, one of my clients did not realize how much she had going for her. She was a great negotiator, very attentive to details and at the same time was very personable. She would bend over backwards to be sure that her clients felt comfortable. When she realized her uniqueness, her business grew, as she realized how much she had to give.

Tip 7: Use the Law of Attraction to attract your ideal clients

The best way for your business to grow and your income to triple is to be attracting your ideal clients. Your ideal clients will be pleasurable to work with, they will appreciate your service and will demonstrate that to you with a full commission, and they will refer people to you.

The Law of Attraction would say: visualize clients you want to work with, see yourself working with them now, and feel what it feels like to have an abundance of ideal clients. If it gives you joy to serve them, then radiate that joy and watch how it magnetizes those ideal clients to you. This is the difference between having work you tolerate and work that you love.

Follow these tips, and you'll be thriving in any market.

Most people I meet seem to dread writing articles and seem to always complain or have something negative to say when it comes to adding content, writing a post etc. Some are just plain lazy and some don't see it as powerful or successful enough. hey often say that the kind of articles they write don't bring them any real traffic. The reason in most cases is that they don't write often enough and by often enough I mean once a day. Neither do they submit it to enough or at least a few quality article submission sites.

They simply think if they write a few articles a month it would bring a huge surge of traffic lasting for eternity, but unfortunately we don't live in never never land and little boys can't fly...

Writing articles is a great way to generate free traffic and quality backlinks that will somewhere along the line result in definite better rankings and sales. But you have got to work hard at it, doing a lot of it and stay clear of half done work, cause no one wants to read a sales pitch, they expect info not salesmanship. So to benefit your website with traffic and backlinks, write and submit at least one article a day, that's if you really want to make your article marketing a success... Otherwise just don't bother.

How can I write one or more articles a day it's impossible... Oh no it's not!

Keep it simple without lowering the quality of your article. Stick to a certain writing style and you will soon see yourself pumping out 2 - 5 articles a day... Now thats what I am talking about, by using the same structure with all your articles you will never get stuck staring at the screen thinking "uhm...."??

Start each article with a simple product or service intro, accurately describing the product or service you are selling. Follow up your opening intro with the true heart of the article, you know the compelling stuff. Go over to ezine and find 2 or 3 articles around your topic. Use some of their ideas and be sure to put it over in your own words, never ever copy someone else's hard work... It's illegal and foolish.

If you are only starting off with article writing and marketing go for the easier option of writing benefit-laden type articles. Benefit-laden also known as "List type" articles are for instance articles that begin with: 20 Questions to...., or 30 Ways you could... etc. This is one of the easiest types to write and to write a lot of.

Close off your article by bringing everything you said above together. A compelling closing statement that leaves the reader wanting more in which case he or she clicks through to your site... Voila!

All of the articles are based on real experiences and research done over twenty years as a personal and business coach. They are also written in response to questions which I have been asked as well as address common challenges that people have with affiliate marketing, article marketing, internet marketing or running an online business in general. Internet Marketing - Increase Your Internet Marketing Presence With Your Resource Box Or Bio

Before getting into the article content, may I recommend that you also read "Affiliate Marketing - Take A Critical Look At Your Marketing" which provides additional information on calls to action and resource boxes. O.K...

In reading this article it is a given that we all understand the benefits of writing articles and submitting them to article directories. It is also a given that articles are definitely not sales pitches. Having said that, what do you think the purpose of your article should be? I can think of five immediately

  • To inform the reader
  • To build credibility
  • To convince the reader you can help them
  • To lead the reader to your resource box
  • To get the payoff

If we have been successful in accomplishing the first three, how do we then use the limited space available to us to get the maximum benefit out of the resource box?

This may seem obvious to many but the first thing to do is to read the conditions that apply in submitting articles to a specific directory. The biggest complaint I hear is that you cannot include affiliate links. Why would you want to do that anyway? Why would you want to send your readers to someone else's website and not yours? Why would you want to give up the opportunity of capturing the reader's details as a potential customer?

Now, let me ask you this question.

How many of you use software to submit your articles to the directories? I don't. That does not mean I am passing judgement on the merits or otherwise of doing so, it's just that I wondered - do all of the directories follow the same rules, do they all give us the same amount of space / lines in which to write our bio?

Or will some of them truncate the text and lose part of that vital URL? As an example:

Ezinearticles provides a lot more space than Goarticles for their respective resource boxes. I have published over 100 articles in each of these directories and, from experience, the information that I include in the Ezinearticles resource box has to be reworked and shortened to suit Goarticles.

You get the message - check. I'd really hate it if you were truncated!

What is the purpose of your Resource Box?

In understanding the purpose of the article, what is the purpose of your resource box?

Perhaps it is to

  • Generate income
  • Attract subscribers to a newsletter
  • Improve your link popularity
  • Generate more traffic to your website or blog
  • Get readers to sign up for a course

Whatever the purpose is, stick to that purpose. O.K. maybe you do have seven websites and ten blogs but look at it this way. Why take up valuable space that can be used to convince your readers further that you have the solution they are looking for, just to display links to all your websites.

Even worse, your article is one of a series on internet marketing but you include links to your gardening site and your weight loss site. Is your reader confused or what?

Call To Action

What's in it for me? No, not you, what's in it for the reader?

Your article has done its job, your readers want to find out more. The key is to keep their curiosity going for a few more seconds.

Anything has to be far better than just "Click here for more information". At the very least, spell out some of the benefits. Better still, tease your readers with "Did you know that...", "What if I told you that...", "If you sign up for....which is totally FREE, you'll also get..."

Whatever the purpose of your article, don't miss the opportunity to capture your readers' details. They are all targeted potential customers who have come to you through your article. If it has done its job, they will be in the right frame of mind. Once captured, these potential customers have given you permission to contact them.

Of course, the purpose of the resource box is to get your reader to take action, to click on that all important link. What of it?

Check and double check that the link is not broken or misspelled. Avoid direct affiliate links. Avoid link cloaking where it is obvious to the reader that it is still an affiliate link. It's far better to use redirects anyway.

In Summary

Continue to build your credibility so that more readers are intrigued enough that they want to visit your site and browse what you have to offer them. Encourage your readers to take your call to action and click on your link by providing the resource box content that makes a strong, positive impression. Remember, we get one chance to make an impression.

Although this has focused on writing articles, the same principles apply to signatures on emails and writing posts on forums. It will be your loss to underestimate the power of your resource box. There may be restrictions and limited space but it provides you with a significant tool to drive traffic to your site. It is also unlikely that a dull, unimaginative resource box will ever get the job done. Be creative and at the same time show that what you have to offer is exactly what your reader is looking for.

When there is a good flow of information from the title through the article content that continues into the resource box, you have every chance that the reader will accept your call to action. Job done.

    Some would be website owners enjoy the syndication of online articles and gleefully post these articles on their websites. Then they put up Google Adsense advertisements and immediately start collecting trickle payments.

    However a problem has arisen where these website owners use programs to collect articles and then post them on their websites, which is a good idea, unless they program mangles the articles, which is what is happening now. Further the website owners who do this do not care to fix the problem because they know if Internet Readers do not enjoy the mangled articles then they are five times as likely to click on a link to go somewhere else.

    If the Internet Surfer clicks on an AdSense Ad the website owner wins monetarily and therefore builds more websites with more botched and mangled articles on it. It would be nice if the "Google-Ologists" re-develop their spider programs and algorithms to remove these types of sites from the first 10 pages of their search returns, as that would certainly dampen these perpetrators.

    As I study the various types of search engines and their techniques it is too bad sometimes that Google has such a large percentage of the market, as other search engines often provide better results for the user. But it is all about marketing for Google. And with their research department, I cannot believe that they are not looking into this, but the slowness to respond is bothersome and telling of a future bureaucracy.

    I would imagine that riding the next peak of Googles stock would be wise, but then selling it all, as it moves up quickly, because if this continues and Google does not adapt to the new climate and environment of these scam type Google Adsense manipulators then all will be lost.

    Of course in saying that; Shareholders Equity and Quarterly Profits are indeed a driver for stock price and if Google gets rid of these sites in the top tier search return pages then, they will temporarily lose profits in that quarter.

    Catch-22 for them, although really and this is just in my opinion both the Internet and Google are at risk long-term if they do not. So this is a time for Wiki-Search, Ask.com, Yahoo, MSN, etc to go for it and make hey and capture marketshare while Google attempts to hold up this impossible stock price.

    And to that point and for anyone who does not remember the DotCom crash, well lets just say that their personal stock portfolios are doomed during the repeat, even if the scenario is only a dip for the over all Internet Stocks, it may not be for Google. Just thinking outloud and watching the Road Ahead, which looks more like a runway if some other company can capitalize on the failure of Google to right this problem.
